I Write My Soul Away
In the time that I need it
In the moment I crave it
I gather all my thoughts
That I can run away with
I go on a journey
to somewhere that's real
But that only I can see
that only I can feel
And I let my soul run
Like children in the park
Like tears on a pillow
Or bleeding on the heart
I take my clothes off
And I ly with the earth
I free my mind I free my words
I listen to the wind
Quietly as it whispers I jump right in
And get drawn away down the river
I can feel it now
The moisture of the sun
Nourishing my soul
In a way that can't be undone
And then it begins again
Like the start of a brand new day
The dreams of my pencil
As I write my soul away
In the moment I crave it
I gather all my thoughts
That I can run away with
I go on a journey
to somewhere that's real
But that only I can see
that only I can feel
And I let my soul run
Like children in the park
Like tears on a pillow
Or bleeding on the heart
I take my clothes off
And I ly with the earth
I free my mind I free my words
I listen to the wind
Quietly as it whispers I jump right in
And get drawn away down the river
I can feel it now
The moisture of the sun
Nourishing my soul
In a way that can't be undone
And then it begins again
Like the start of a brand new day
The dreams of my pencil
As I write my soul away
