If We Can’t Be Together
If we can’t be together,
Either now or in time,
Life could be somewhat better,
Knowing you’d have been mine.
Had circumstances changed,
If the fates from above,
Had our lives rearranged,
Where I’d have your love.
I could somehow get through,
If in your heart I could see,
And somehow I knew,
That you really loved me.
Then even though we’re apart,
You’d dwell ever in my heart.
