Into the Future

Dreaming for a tomorrow unknown
While we push forward in the dark
Some fly past us trying to evade
Unwholesome moments of the present
They attempt to escape the inescapable
Though they comprise the future,
Binding the future to the present
They flee into the future with fear
While the present chases behind them,
That readily mocks the fastest runners
When they stumble, and then fall
For no one should dare to conquer
That predetermined pace of time
To whom, that somehow adheres to it
It signals, it amply will reward
Better yet, will walk arm-in-arm
Like good friends that never depart
So, let's be judicious with time
And, somehow pace forward with it
For though it seems to appear dark
Darkness emanates rays of light
That shines in the sight of the mind,
That illuminates the path forward
