It's Just Hair
She sat there on the stairs Fiddling around with her hair
Blonde, curly, every strand
Felt the warmth of her hand
She would sit there in a daze
Twirling her hair throughout the day
She did not care to dance nor prance
Never went outside to play
The swirly princess on the step
Holding her breath with each prep
This Poems Story
I wrote this earlier this year for poetry nations amateur contest. I received a letter stating it was a semi finalist and that was back in July. I have re-entered it because I never got my proof for it. I wrote this for my youngest. She went through Cancer treatment and lost her hair twice. She is cancer free today and has a head full of curls. She is 8 years old. She went through treatment from age 3-6 1/2
