Just Friends
There, on the hairs of my arm,
Standing like sunflowers reaching, the sun emerges.
It tightens around my body,
And suddenly releases with a sigh, the wind rippling the water and weeds.
Cotton tee and cologne beneath my nose, perfuming flowers flourishing now,
Then there’s breathe, against my own, mint, lavender, jasmine.
Daisies reach up to seek the light, their leaves crawl up my skin,
petals wrap around my tongue, the sweetest nectar fills my cheeks.
The sun shines brighter, the flowers grow quicker now,
Weaving, sprouting, blooming, around me, beneath me, through me until I bleed beneath my chest.
