Knells of Oblivion
From barren relics
that are shaped
the bane of their flaws
strip the facet to escape
harvest the parts they forsake
seeking to be gods,
and still, darkness awaits
the warmth of life is but fleeting
a numb hush is fate
met with bleating
pleas of mercy
cries of regret
for what they waste
and chose to forfeit
hear them sing
drawn to their calling
in spite the hour
go forth unto the cold
the knells of oblivion ring
and thus, silence follows
drifting through the stars
sifting through moments
hoarding remorse
as priceless artifacts
discarding realities
for temporal fantasies
when nothing is forged
to withstand
all things inevitably die
return to the dust and decay
from which it came
The shadows stalk steps
regarding every breath
exhale this life
plunge into its depths
abandon the static
don the mantle of death
surrender a voice
to the empty chorus
adorning this path
when fear is dismantled
and prospects are abolished
an ending can flourish
that are shaped
the bane of their flaws
strip the facet to escape
harvest the parts they forsake
seeking to be gods,
and still, darkness awaits
the warmth of life is but fleeting
a numb hush is fate
met with bleating
pleas of mercy
cries of regret
for what they waste
and chose to forfeit
hear them sing
drawn to their calling
in spite the hour
go forth unto the cold
the knells of oblivion ring
and thus, silence follows
drifting through the stars
sifting through moments
hoarding remorse
as priceless artifacts
discarding realities
for temporal fantasies
when nothing is forged

all things inevitably die
return to the dust and decay
from which it came
The shadows stalk steps
regarding every breath

to the empty chorus
adorning this path
when fear is dismantled
and prospects are abolished
an ending can flourish
