Lean on Me

"Home is where the heart is," that's what people say
They are right; I think of home every second of every day
The cornfields and cows, the tractors and plows
The barns and horses, all of these are the good country forces
I remember high school, trying to"fit in" to "be cool"
Made some enemies, made a lot more true friends
These kind of relationships never end
Now I'm in the service, willing to give my life
To keep my land free and my hometown out of strife
There's a verse in the Bible, it's my motto and a message it sends
Greater love hath no man than laying down his life for his friends
This I will do, for him, for her, and yes for you
If duty calls, I'm sailing away, to keep the terrorists at bay
I will be your best friend. If you need a shoulder, I will lend
If you're down and feeling blue or just need someone to lean on
Lean on me, I will carry you through
