Mothers Fears led us to Tears

Our eyes swollen, cheeks burning from many tears created by mother's fears
Father drunk coming home late from work
Off we go,another adventure into the night
grasping each others hands, not knowing where our heads would lay that night, just us seven praying for a good night's rest.

Achy feet from long distance walks, playing a wicked game
we all knew too well
Hide and Seek
Mother hid us in a safe place as Father hunted to find us.
Long and scary
nights, weather of hot and humid air or cold and blizzard conditions mother couldn't care
ensuring to protect her cubs at any cost
knowing we felt lost
Safe with her she did her best ensuring we have a goodnights rest.

Sirens and covincts
The blue uniform became familiar to us all
the nights our families didn't open their doors
Hard wooden benches in prescincts
It's where our heads rested
Father was even arrested
His wobbly self and the smell of alcohol covering his breath showed us behaviors of the man he manifested.

Knocking on families' doors, mother didn't care although she would be judged this my sibling's and and I recall
Mother was so strong
Hurting down to her core, mother insured we stood bonded through it all no matter what the ordeal, our hearts felt mother's love was so pure.

A love tainted, wicked, and cruel left us many memories
glad my siblings and I got through it all
tainted hearts no more
Goodbye fear we now finally wiped away our tears.

Watched our parent's love slowly drift many years with fears
our cheeks burned with tears
Harsh memories we all recall
A tainted love between mother and father we all endured
fathers death its where she found her cure this only hurt us so much more.
