My Personal Heaven
I love the early morn
That tranquil time of day before anyone stir
I sit quietly alone studying the sights and sounds of nature
I see the birds of many colors and hear the considerable
Number of songs they possess
I take note of the fact that some of the
Loudest of sounds flow from the smallest of birds
I hear the distinctive chirping of the squirrels
As they race thru the trees at what seems to be record speed.
My eyes search the sky watching as the sun
Struggle to burst through the morning clouds
Suddenly, a breeze brush softly against my skin
Sending a shivering sensation through my body
Leaving me to feel as though I'd been softly
Touched by God's hand.
In the early morn one can appreciate things
One would otherwise miss during the run of the day
I sit, I watch, I listen, and I wonder
"Can it be any better than this?"
This I must say is my personal heaven.
That tranquil time of day before anyone stir
I sit quietly alone studying the sights and sounds of nature
I see the birds of many colors and hear the considerable
Number of songs they possess

Loudest of sounds flow from the smallest of birds
