Ode To Bob Dylan

You told us about the tombstone blues
You were our rolling stone
When you painted your masterpiece
You reminded us you'd been to Rome

You told us about those roads a man must walk down
Perhaps you were watching the river flow
When you told the one
About the leopard skin Pill-box hat
You must have felt like that lonesome hobo

You told us you escaped
Like the drifter you mentioned
You were our father of night
You offered shelter from the storm
Laid your blood on the tracks
You asked when you gonna wake up and see the light

You observed from the tip of the mountain
You must have seen that ship come in
You told us about your lovers and Johanna
And the politics of sin
