Off to death

As I lie on my death bed counting my limited beats,
Allow me a last glance of you.
I have refrained and forbid myself from ever remembering your face,
And it has brought tremendous and aching agony to me.
And as my pulse slows and my heart speaks to me of you,
In a quiet and hushed voice for you are a forbidden topic in me.
Your face, your eyes, your smile, your voice, your words and all of you,
Has taken upon every part of me.
And I have begged myself not to acknowledge that I am empty and hollow,
And it is you who lives within me.
Now, my life, as I die,
Allow me to remember you.
You have haunted my nights so I've not slept,
And now when I close my eyes for an eternity,
Allow me to sleep and dream of you.
As I lie on my death bed in my final moments,
Allow me to relive and relish every moment that we had,
And then finally when I would have fulfilled all my wishes, allow me to die
And free me from this life of longing and sorrows.
