Passing You By

I see you approaching but yet you are so far
I did not get a chance to remove the pain that created war
Love is sweet but then sour because of the reality of what was unknown
I took a chance when I stop to talk to you to see if you were the one that I will spend the rest of my life with
Then I stopped (pause)
Couldnt ask your name so I watch you walk right by
I called your name and you turned around
You were surprise to know that a flower like me was interested in a man who had some thorns that would prick my heart
Should I have passed you by or take the road of mystery which would be caught up in me and hurt me some more
The attraction was just so fair that we couldnt look past the fear
Then I woke up to see that it was all a dream
The fantasy of a man who would only bring me shame
The one who took all the love I had.
