Seasons*
School is out and it’s time to play
on a field of grass under a heated day
or maybe i’ll try to keep myself cool
by swimming at a public pool
when the fun is done, it’s back to school
earthy colors on the ground are spewed
roasted turkey dinners, families gathering
jack-o-lanterns are carved for Halloween
cool breeze is in the air
gentle snowflakes then appear
spruces are decorated for the holiday
peace on earth is what we pray
flowers then come back in bloom
love’s in the air and people swoon
the land is green and fresh again
until the summer heat begins.
