Sense

I am a hope
I am a breath
I am what there is when there is nothing left.

I am the tree, two-fold
needing darkness and quiet,
drinking in delicious sunlight.

My roots dig and twist and push.

Here it is I make my stand
as here I have been planted.

The birds I watch go flitting by
come and go through the years.

Though they may fly and wander,
I grow strong right here.
