shark bite blues

the hush it was so quiet, in the stillness of the deep,
going for the tackle and the fish I'd wished to keep.
for I had lost far to many, on this sunny day,
and I was not about to let this one get away.

so down I dove twenty five feet, to the bottom far below,
and doing what was normal, I tried to let it go.
and just as I got my tackle free and ready to come up,
what come at me big as life, but a four foot shark.

now I'm not one for fable's like Jonah and the whale,
but when I saw this shark come near I grabbed him by his tail,
so the war was on as I had thought, a real live shark with bare hands I caught,
he thrashed around as I held him tight and much to my surprise,
sure enough he sung around and bit me in my thigh.

so here we are this shark and I, a rolling in the deep,
I knew it all was over as my air was leaving me.
their had to be another force, for my strength was all but gone,
but I kept going on and on and finialy made the top.

I looked around for any help, my boat was far away,
so I headed for my boat with this shark still on my leg.
fifteen feet twenty feet it seemed an eternity, but then I clung on to my boat,
as the shark clung on to me.

I grabbed a knife what could I do? I stabbed in his head,
one time two times three times four. I thought that shark was dead,
now some where in that ocean deep is a shark with a peace of me,
we'll meet again some day I know, and then their might be hell.
but i'll tell you this I know it's true, I'll never grab him by his tail

the key west paper said man attacked by shark, when in truth I attacked him he was just defending him self.
