Still Looking

At five years old and not knowing why,
to my family and friends, I would say good-bye.
It would be many years till I saw them again,
Over fifty years later, I still feel the pain.

The pain would dictate the roads I would travel,
while blinded by thoughts, I would try to unravel.
Many choices I've made, were ones born from strife.
I was filled with grief, and I made a mess of my life.

I have grown so weary, trying to sort it all out,
looking for solutions I know almost nothing about.
I must find them soon, I've not much time to break free.
I would love to relax during the time left for me.
