Summer’s Calling My Name

The summer heat invades my mind.
As I lay under the big oak tree.
Watching the squirrels throw acorns near my head.
Giggling in their squirrelly way.
Beads of sweat run down my forehead.
I don’t dare tear myself away from the sun.
The tranquility I experience is worth it’s
weight in gold.
