Surviving Warrior

I've fought since my conception,
My story nothing of exception,
But there is a point to my tale,
About true strength without fail,
See there's a difference between a survivor,
And a surviving warrior,
One has fought and won the fight,
But seeks no greater result at the end of a night,
That is a survivor,
And far different from a warrior,
A warrior seeks to learn beyond the winning result,
And strengthen their every fault,
They look in their souls mirror,
To find what was hidden in the battles fear,
They see the lessons the battle taught,
Because without that lesson the battle was for naught,
A survivor constantly repeats the same battle,
But a warrior seeks a new lessons battle,
Swinging back onto their horse,
The warrior continues the course,
Some may think them wallowing,
Left behind and following,
Yet that very warrior,
Is in that their own leader.
