Taking so long

By Tika G

My heart beats so slow,
as if tired of the wait,
and wish to stop any moment,
Don't know what's taking so long.

My tears have died in the eyes,
losing all hope with every single breathe,
and the world seems cruel,
Don't know what's taking so long.

My skin has wrinkles all over,
with passing of all the four seasons every year,
awaiting for your touch,
Don't know what's taking so long.

My lips are dried looking ugly,
awaiting your name to be called,
and a kiss that ignites life again,
Don't know what's taking so long.

My warmth is wearing out as,
death lays its icy hands on me,
soul lost it's way to home,
Don't know what's taking so long.

Destiny playing the brutal game,
chasing to win and laughing at my loss,
I choose to surrender the desire,
as my faith in him has left me lifeless,
but with love in my spirit intact,
She is ready to accept the fate,
there is no one coming and
there was never a place to be called HOME.
