Tales

You didn’t think I’d believe it,
When you told me
Stars were angels’
Tears.
After all,
It was only a story
To ease a child
To sleep.

Now I see
You were right,
And heavens upon heavens
Outside my window
Expand with each passing night.

What sorrows, oh angels,
What sorrows?
What is it that tortures you so?
Why so many tears?

Love, let me share your burden,
Let me weep
And weep soundly.
I will fill your heavens,
I will be your stars.
