THE DELTA

No sunset more beautiful
No place more peaceful
No people more helpful
The Delta is my home
Born and raised
The outside sees us as they want, not as we truly are
We are all one and one is all
We stand together, we stand tall
The Delta, my home
We live, we laugh, we love
There’s no one race amongst us all
Very little racism haunt these halls
The Delta
Think what you will but we know the truth
We stand with pride and could careless about your views
The Delta

This Poems Story

Most people think that the Mississippi Delta is nothing more than racism. How far from the truth could that be. Most of us here were born and raised right here. We help each other in time of need no matter the skin color. The none racism out weighs the ones who are. So before you judge our little part of the world, come and see for yourself. We are polite, and respectful. We still say ma’am and sir. We greet with good morning or how are you. Very few here see the outside of a person. Most of us see the inside. People do not want to believe that we live in harmony. We go to school together, we work together, we hunt and fish together, and yes we go to church together. So don’t judge us just because we are in the south and don’t judge us because we live in Mississippi. Come see for yourself.
