The Good in Us All
As she walked down a road on a warm summers dayShe came upon grass growing over where a road once lay
As she walked down she saw where hopes and dreams were alive
And happiness and honesty there could thrive
She heard the wind as it blew through the trees
It sounded like the whispering of lost hope as it grieves
She looked back and saw the new road that everyone will take
Where trees were now lies concrete, plastic, and everything fake
She was saddened by the truth she knew would never be told
They will strip you of your morals therefore making your heart cold
They tell you hopes and dreams are all part of the past
Cruelty and corruption are the only things that will last
She sheds a tear as values that could make a country unite an strong
Turns to everything that will make us weak and wrong
If at the path is a man but weary and hesitant of what he may become
Simply say you may not end famous but your heart will not be numb
