The Hermit

A lonely home of introspection

The perse inner worlds

Black rainbows for roads

That lead nowhere

Cracked mirrors line the trees

Self-image different in each one

Change that wants to stay the same

While searching for the root of it all

Closed off and thoughtful

Secrets meant to keep

Hidden paper hearts

Protected from the sharp rain drops

Bloody confetti tree tops

House the hermit birds

Their wings are charred

But they fly high

High into the amethyst sky

Carrying their hermit secrets

And willingness to die
