The Hermit (Recluse)

By aokjr

Away from the blistering heat
an escape from a mindless shrill
Starts a slow but sturdy retreat
into the peaceful beckoning still

To revive flatlines in reclining defeat
surrendering hope to a suicidal thrill
To make out every single heartbeat
voiceless but with a yearning to fill

Chaos, fear, ails, all that the silence unseat
Awash in the serenity from this holy hill
Forever stretches as gold beneath my feet
Love is in continuum with no time to kill.
