The Secret

By T R B

I have a secret that must be buried deep
something to love something to keep
something I have to keep hush hush
something I am starting to regret so much

A dark, private secret so buried deep
a secret that I too mustn't keep
no more hush hush the secret's out
do not cry or pout or spin round about
do not laugh or judge or yell
do not ring the losers bell

A dark, private secret that still hasn't been told
I guess I'll keep it till I grow old
till my body is in the ground dead and cold
never to tell a tale so old

The secret's out that I'm bi
that I like both a girl and a guy
I cannot change what I know
it is like an never-melting snow
been that way since 13
with no one who understood and on no one on which I could lean
