The Spirit of Woman
I flee to the place were the drums don't sound
The place that is mine and cannot be found
It's here I become who I am fighting to be
It's here I am brave, I am wild and free
No hands pull me back, out of the light
No veil covers me so I am hidden from sight
I let down my hair and the weight of the wind
whispers "you're home", and my new life begins
I look back at the place where they are shackled and bound
by their own delusions and deafening sounds
I am not them and will never be
I am brave, I am wild and I am finally free
The place that is mine and cannot be found
It's here I become who I am fighting to be
It's here I am brave, I am wild and free
No hands pull me back, out of the light
No veil covers me so I am hidden from sight
I let down my hair and the weight of the wind
whispers "you're home", and my new life begins
I look back at the place where they are shackled and bound
by their own delusions and deafening sounds
I am not them and will never be
I am brave, I am wild and I am finally free
This Poems Story
