There is No One Next to Me
As I walk, I can see,
There is no one next to me.
But I think there's a guy,
Who is able and kind.
Who holds me when I cannot walk
And understands me when I cannot talk.
He is the goal at the end.
He is my one, true friend.
I feel him kiss my tearstained face,
So I keep this killer pace.
Though I knew his footsteps stay gone,
I pray for, long for him all day long.
He holds my hand, dries tears and now cheers me on.
Though the task is frighteningly long.
I feel his hugs as thin as air.
But I still feel him and know he is there.
As I walk, I can see,
There is no one next to me.
But step by breath by hug by heartbeat,
I feel his love and know he's beside me.
