This is how I felt.
You were my world,
the sun that lit my days,
the laughter wrapped in quiet nights,
and now I roam in shadows,
lost in echoes of your smile.
I loved you with all I had,
every beat of my heart,
each word a gentle whisper,
but you called it too much,
claimed I was needing,
as if love could drown
when it was meant to fly.
I put you above the rest,
in that sacred space we shared,
and I held you close,
so tightly woven,
that when you turned away,
the threads unraveled,
and I fell,
into pieces,
into questions.
Why did you have to end it,
after weeks drenched in dreams?
Did words of love mean less
with each fleeting breath?
Two months felt endless,
a promise made of stars,
yet you let it slip,
like sand through my fingers,
like whispers fading into silence.
I wish you’d spoken,
just said your truth,
instead of letting me float
on a hope that turned to dust.
You stood there,
smiling still,
while I poured out my heart,
now heavy with shards,
wondering where I went wrong.
Perhaps I gave you all of me,
scattering pieces,
when half would have been enough,
a shield for the storms—
should have known you wanted
our love to be the same
as those lighter days,
when we were friends, just friends,
with a new title floating
like a balloon,
as I held on too tight.
Now I pick up fragments,
trying to make sense of the mess,
sorting through the dreams
that now turn to dust,
and I wonder,
would it have been easier
if you had only told me?
Or did you think love was light,
and I would be fine,
flying alone,
with the ghost of what we had?
the sun that lit my days,
the laughter wrapped in quiet nights,
and now I roam in shadows,
lost in echoes of your smile.
I loved you with all I had,
every beat of my heart,

but you called it too much,
