Times Past
Memories of riding Sunday evening with my grandparents,
as Grandpa shifted gears in that old truck.
Waking up Christmas morning to the wonderful smells of Granny's cooking for days all around the house.
The long hot summers shelling beans and swinging as we churned the milk onto buttermilk for Grandpa's cornbread.
Times past of smelling cedar burning in so many wood heaters coming from neighbors' chimneys.
I miss the talks of what growing up was like in my grandparent's time of their past lives.
Most of all I miss the grandparents that gave so much and expected so little In Times Past.
as Grandpa shifted gears in that old truck.
