Tranquility

There is no greater joy,
No feeling more serene and sublime
Than holding your baby.
I sit in the antique rocking chair
In my daughter’s nursery
Slowly rocking back and forth
My precious angel in my arms
Wrapped in her favorite blanket
I hum an ancient lullaby
And she sleeps, ever so peaceful
These days will not last forever
Soon she will start to decompose
But her funeral was lovely.
