Unadultered

She was beautiful,
Even though the world had broken her...
Because the sun couldn't shine,
Without her basking in its radience.
The wind could not blow,
Without her shivering in its embrace.
To her,
There was nothing more alluring,
Than the scent of the forest.
Nothing more real,
Then the rains kiss on her skin.
She was like an injured bird,
With the intense will to fly again.
She would never give in,
Lest her life fade away.
She loved with fierce abandon,
No creature could escape her empathy.
She gave herself entirely to others,
Yet she was left empty inside.
She had no equal to reciprocate.
And this left her feeling hollow and alone.
Each heartache that she took into herself,
She bandaged with with the pain of others.
Until there was no longer a piece of her,
That belonged solely to herself.
Never assume that you understand her,
Because her mind is ever evolving.
Count yourself lucky if you ever cross her path,
Because she will really see you.
She will know you like a childhood lullaby,
And she will offer herself unto you,
Without a word ever spoken between you.
