Vulnerable

I make connections where none exist
I fear the worst by default
Doubt that I long to resist
What value is there in this delusive agony
There are times I tire of my thoughts
There are times I would rather I forgot
I no longer crave such mythic screams
To occupy any defining space
I seek no witness To this madness
Extrinsic regard is not so heavy
As I recuse those pursuits
Yet I have a protest in contest of my conscious
Allow my mind some waking solace
More than a moment is far from sufficient
For my resolve is solid in ambition
I see what is absent
I hear what is and what is not
I seek to know
I desire to speak
I worship truth
yet first I must see
those perspectives beyond me
