We Must Fight To Live
I just lie there thinking if life is any better than being dead
A wise man once said, maybe we have to die a couple of times before we can live
But I’m just so sick and tired, I don’t know if I have anything left to give
We are born with so much enthusiasm and so much soul
When we are young, we all have are hopes, dreams and goals
Then you realize that dreams don’t always come true
And it seems that the world is just a big scary place, out to hurt you
When we were young we use to treat everyone with kindness and respect
And we thought the saying, good always triumphs over evil was correct
Now all I see is how horrible people are, and it makes me hurl
How can anyone possibly stay positive in this cruel, cruel world?
We use to believe that our futures were promising and bright
And we thought that no matter what, in the end everything will be alright
But now I’m not even sure if I can make it through the day
And I asked God, why did you make the world this way?
Just then, I watched as a beautiful falcon jump and took flight
It made me feel that I should continue to fight
To fight to live, fight to breathe and fight to be free
And maybe one day I’ll be happy, and I can be me
