What Happened?
I remember when dad was a giant and everything was much larger, things were easier, and things were farther.
We were left to roam alone, on our own at young ages,
Our parents giving all, with empty on their guages.
Raised up by the streets climbing life’s ladders,
They taught us a tougher way but a way of good manners.
Easier times, when fights happened where the school grounds would meet,
We only had our bikes and boards, our two feet and heartbeat.
Powering through the windy days or long days of heat,
But nothing matched the winter walks those could be a feat.
There used to be a time people minded their business, and they didn’t want those material things.
A lot of things over time have been witnessed, I’m just glad we were free and got to flap our wings,
What happened to a little old Fashioned, what happened to a Time when people loved, laughed And rationed.
