What You See

Secrets don’t make friends they say
And tomorrow’s just another day
Some folks lie while others don’t
Many say they will but then they won’t
Silence is golden when talk is cheap
Good company is hard to find and to keep
Smiles become fake and even harder to find
More times than not this world is unkind
Trust is undone and hearts get broke
Often your dreams will go up in smoke
Your memories shall fade with each passing year
Many things will change into what you most fear
Everything is not what it should seem to be
It shouldn’t be this hard for me to be me
It bothers me knowing this is how I feel
Those I love most don’t know how to be real
I’ll never understand how love conquers all
WhenI’m the only one to catch me whenever I fall
Bridges will be burnt, friendships will end
Not everything broken can we easily mend
I leave you now with this closing thought
Forget not who you are in the battles you fought
Change for no one the person you’re meant to be
