When I am an adult
As a child I lived near the ocean.
It roared, it screamed, it felt my pain.
Now a teen I live near the forest.
It moans, it groans, it feels my pain.
When an adult I wish to live without pain.
I wish to go outside
And hear the birds chirp, sing
So I know they feel my happiness.
I want to feel the winds softness, tender touch
So I know it feels my peace.
Finally I want to hear myself, sing, talk
So I know I can trust.
I want to see myself write, draw
So I know I can create.
I want to feel myself, peaceful, caring
So I know I can love.
