When You Left

You left behind only memories.
Hopeful thoughts let you linger on.
Shrouded in cloaks of imagination,
Only there, you’re not really gone.
I feel your soul here next to me.
The dark night drags with it, haunting chills.
Deliberate blindness won’t work for me now,
Excruciating heartache, my souls left to feel.
