Where I Abide

My anguish departs the shadows
Dancing in and out of the monochrome.
Your words spew forth, as cold as ice.
Errupting from your heart of stone.
What you feel your soul is
Born from the ash of a cold embers fate.
Vastness of gray depletes the shadows.
Your manipulation has been quite ornate.
You justify your hateful words.
Believing the validity of your selfish plight..
The pain you feel is your entitlement,
Because two wrongs don't make a right.
I've never dared deny my faults.
I own up to the blame that is mine.
But despite your forgiveness, and my efforts and change,
Forlorn in your judgement I will abide.

This Poems Story

My ex husband and I were having major issues and this was written the morning of mothers day 2013 because he had said some hateful things to me on the way to church that morning. A little while later right outside the church this poem came to life.
