Why?

it’s hard for me
to actually see,
why you choose
a cold monthly moon
over the warm daily sun?

for the probing tune
of a winter’s night moon
sings of just the chorus,
the sun’s beaming rays
sings a song that says
i’ll love you each new day.

i believe you are afraid of
becoming attached to love,
realizing there’s only little time left
it’s me you knowingly shrug.

love is surely not for fun,
though at times it can.
it’s a song that’s sung
from heart to tongue
without the slight of hand.

i’m making excuses
i know i am
it’s the only way i can,
because i love you
what i ask myself is true...
why don’t i ever understand?

This Poems Story

Why would someone pass on a love that would be there everyday over one who shows it sparingly and selfishly. Maybe they like it that way, running away from the attachment and commitment to real love.
