Will we ever learn?
Puritans vacated their abodes sailing west
to a new land started a freedom’s quest
when they arrived, and tried to survive
native red men helped their lives
what did they do in this new land
a different skin, less of a man
they took over, annihilating aborigines
claiming new land, planting their seeds
previously in Africa, slavery persists
so the people joined in with what already exists
less of a man, chained and hooked
for money and trade, a new color they took
afraid of what they didn’t know
that all men inside, have equal marrow
so like the Indians, lives didn’t count
Negroes had value, so masters kept them around
eventually many found a way to escape
bloodshed for opportunity, was it too late?
triumph was claimed by the freeing north
the south caucasians wouldn’t go forth
now they were free, would they really be
in this nations bigoted democracy?
war against Indians, war against Blacks
to accept other colors, is what they lacked
an overseas war were killing the Jews
a new Aryan race, blacks murdered too
anyone different deserved the attacks
genocide the answer, conducted in packs
Yellow joined in, we had to defend
trying to stop this abhorrent trend
so, another race we started to hate
ones in the states enduring their fate
White man thinks he’s the superior race
Red, Yellow, Black, it’s not the case
no matter how hard we evaluate
there will always be those we can’t educate
change the view, change the laws
the colors we see, we all have flaws
life’s unfair, an unacceptable excuse
to justify all the discriminatory abuse
all lives matter is now our fight
will we as people, see the light?
unfortunately prejudice we can’t totally export
it’s the biased brutality we must exhort.

This Poems Story
I wasn\'t sure how i was going to approach this topic of racial inequality, when in fact it\'s not only the blacks that face this issue over the years. The native Indians, Asians and though not a race, the Jews, who have been persecuted and hated for thousands of years and continues today. So blacks don\'t have the corner market on discrimination. So i tried to include the different races in this poem.
