You Decide

Some people don't like a poem that rhymes.

The wind chimes.

Exposing our crimes.

Like snitches dropping dimes.

Get me a tequila with limes!

I've tried to change how many times.

Without a voice were all similar painted mimes.

But were all different people many different kinds.

And all I keep hearing is nothing but whines.

So lets all dress to the nines.

And take a vacation and head to the pines.

Or we'll turn in to robots walking in lines.

You decide..

A rhyme scheme can make a poem stronger or weaker depending on how it's used. If you didn't have to rhyme, what would you want to write a poem about? That's the important bit. The rhyme is only there to emphasize the importance and meaning of the poem. Don't give up! this was a fun read <3

  8. Jessica Fava-Pack

I really liked how this read playfully but had a dark undertone surrounding individuality.

  21. Rocky Williams II

Reminds me of Red Hot Chili Peppers. I really like this style and the way that is uses incoherency to actually force you to think about it. well done

  24. CooliaJulia

    Where is the moral

  25. Jose Propest

It was nice and fun, but some of the rhymes felt forced

  26. Tanya

The idea, use of words, rhyming everything was great. I wonder why rating is so low.

  27. Fleet

    Loved it

  28. Jack Carter

I love the playfulness and spontaneity in this poem! It has a great energy, and you’ve captured a sense of frustration and humor, especially with the back-and-forth between serious thoughts and lighthearted asides (like “Get me a tequila with limes!”). The way you mix existential reflection with casual moments makes the poem feel very relatable and real, almost like a stream of consciousness.

  29. Diya Agastya

Loved the layers to this one

  30. Vera Obochi-Arum

The rhyming scheme makes sense so we'll done.

  31. Laila Shaheen

  32. Nat Hall

  36. Favour Adeyemi

You can try as much as you can to be making use of allegories to deal with neoclassical and sentiments in literature.

  37. Clay Grinnan

This is a fun read, but I do think that exploring different kinds of poetry is a great way to improve. Sometimes it's easy to get offended when people say to change things. But trust me, being willing to explore different forms of poetry is not going to turn you into a robot; it might even help add more diversity and emotion to your portfolio!

  38. Rachael B

WELL DONE! THAT WAS A MASTERPIECE

  39. Dallas H
