You Didn’t Keep Her
One day, when you have a son,
With light blonde hair and bright blue eyes,
please do this for me:
Tell him how bad you messed up.
Tell him the biggest mistake of your life.
Tell him about that girl you loved when you were 16.
Tell him how much she loved you.
And tell him how you shattered her to pieces.
Don’t let him make the same mistake.
Let him be smarter than you.
When he finds the one, make sure he keeps her.
Make sure he does what you didn’t do.
