A Better Day

Late at night you take a few stiff drinks.
You realize that your life stinks.
You lose precious sleep,
as you lie down and weep.
You feel emptiness and despair.
You feel like you haven't got a prayer.

The next day you walk around in a daze.
Your mind goes through a psychological maze.
You feel like you're going crazy.
You feel ineffectual and lazy.
You become less effective,
as you lose your perspective.
Either you're a hopeless neurotic
or a deranged psychotic.

Endless supression,negative expression, behavioral regression,
these are signs of acute depression.

If you face your fears and put up a fight,
at the dark tunnel's end there is a shining light.
You only have one life.
Don't throw it away.
Therapy,work and play,
will bring happiness and a better day.
