A Mothers Devotion Holds No Adventure

By Starr

A mother's love is a beacon,
One that lights the path to her children's dreams—
Dreams she can only hope to one day see,
Yet she will never feel complete.

She reads stories to her children, day after day,
Tales of big monsters and fierce storms.
Though she has never had such things at her door,
Most would say she's a bore.

With tears, she can't wipe away,
She puts a smile on her face.
She hopes her daughter will never feel the same pain.
But can anything save her from that fate?

Her daughter grows up just like her,
Watching her mother handle storm after storm,
Unaware that her mother’s life changed the moment she was born.
All she has known is her mother's warmth.

But at last, the cycle of life is unavoidable—
At least a mother's life isn't completely unenjoyable.
