A Mystery Is What I Remain

I like the thought of being mysterious
keeping gender in a place none will know
and maybe I'm just a bit delirious
but I like to let my gender freely flow

I like to let it switch and change
I hate being stuck in one or the other
and I've always been a bit strange
I just hope she'll understand, my mother

but for now I'll just have to hide it away
keeping it secret like it's a funny game
I'll tell them, I promise I will someday
but so far I've chosen Makino as my name

it's like mystery on its own
an unknown, weird but kind identity
but sometimes I can feel so alone
maybe I'll always be this mysterious entity

and I don't want to stay in the haunting scary dark
where my mind shouts with words of violence
because unknown peoples comments made their mark
beating me down pushing me to protective silence
