My Ten Phases Of Grief (part two)
Now I exercise and get some sun
But it never works because my minds something I can’t outrun
I’ve given up on getting out to have fun
I know it isn’t healthy but my thoughts stray to me and a gun
So I’m left trying to convince myself not to be done
And I know I should but how do I tell someone
I’m left laying down my limbs feel heavy and tired
The voices beat me down because you’re someone I admired
I miss the days where instead of this I’d feel wired
Next I started to feel okay
I felt i found my way
And I finally knew what to say
But those feelings didn’t last long
I was back to singing a sad song
I started to think something was wrong
Because I should be doing fine
But I can’t cross that line
So I’ll wait for light to shine
That’s phase seven
Wondering if there’s heaven
Now I’m really doing well
I’m no longer in that hell
I finally got out my shell
Because I can finally smile
It only took a while
Every step’s no longer a mile
Now I can finally be glad
Without remembering all we had
Because now I’m not so sad
That’s phase eight
Got my priorities straight
I’m getting out more without you
Keeping myself busy with things to do
Although sometimes I wish you’re here too
But that no longer stops me
Because I’m finally free
I can see what I want to be
I have finally set a life goal
Time has taken its toll
Now I can eat until I’m full
That’s phase nine
My days are divine
I can go out and do some things
Now that I’ve spread my wings
I can get up when my alarm rings
Because it was happiness I sought
Now it’s happiness I’ve wrought
And I’m no longer lost in thought
So now I’m finally alright
And now I can see the light
I’m thankful I stayed in this fight
That’s Phase ten
My mind’s no longer back then
But it never works because my minds something I can’t outrun
I’ve given up on getting out to have fun
I know it isn’t healthy but my thoughts stray to me and a gun
So I’m left trying to convince myself not to be done
And I know I should but how do I tell someone
