After the Credits
The credits rolled, and suddenly, I was alone.
The world I loved had vanished from the screen.
Its final words became a silence of their own,
And somehow, I felt emptier than I had been.
I've sat in this chair for most of the day,
Watching the hours quietly slip away.
No music, no games, no reason to move,
Just a strange little ache I can't quite prove.
My water sits untouched beside my hand,
My thoughts drift somewhere I don't understand.
I ate enough to keep the hunger away,
But somehow I still haven't entered the day.
Maybe I miss the story. Maybe I miss the escape.
Maybe I miss having somewhere else to take shape.
Maybe when a beautiful ending comes to an end,
The silence reminds us we're alone again.
Nothing is broken. Nothing is wrong.
Yet something feels missing now that it's gone.
So I sit in this chair while the afternoon fades,
Wondering what comes after the stories we make.
The screen may be dark, but my story goes on—
Maybe this emptiness means the next chapter dawns.
