Alone

She sets in a room where nobody sees, not even the ones down the hall. Where silence hangs thick in the air she breathes, like she doesn’t exist at all. The clock ticks loud, but no one comes, no voice calls outhername, just echoes of what she’s become and questions wrapped her in shame. Her body aches in quiet war, withdrawal clawing deep, a sickness she can’t outrun any more that won’t let her even sleep. It whispers lies like just give up this is all you’ll be, wraps tight around her fragile skin and steals what’s left to see. Her phone stays dark no calls no sound, her birthday came and went. Not one voice asked if she was around not one message sent. Her mother’s gone still fresh still raw a wound that won’t stay closed, an every memory she ever saw feels like another ghost. Her boyfriend breathes just down the way but might as well be miles, he’s lost in screens a sleep away while she’s wishing for his time, she’s begged for love , just for a sign for something real to hold but empty hands meet hers each time leaving her to feel so cold
