Am I pretty?

Am I pretty?
Sometimes I wonder, can I attract a boy or
Am I simply too ugly for them to notice me

Can I be pretty?
Or do I have to stay like this forever... forever as me, the ugly duckling

No one special or of importance, just me, simple plain-Jane me

Why do I have to be the one that stands out like a sore thumb,
Or so easily forgettable that I blend in to wallpaper.

One day, when I grow up, I'm gonna be pretty like my mom!
But for now, I'm waiting for body to catch up with everyone else.

So I ask … Am I pretty?

This Poems Story

it's about puberty, and when some young girls are hitting "that" age, they begin to wonder, worry, and doubt their natural beauty. they think they're not good enough or pretty enough, or cute enough, ect. they don't get that they're not done growing yet.
