American Military Tribute

Heads held high and shoulders back,
Standing tall and proud.
Ready fighters trained for war,
Shout your cadence loud.

Shiny brass and polished shoes,
Creases sharp as knives,
For freedom’s sake unselfishly,
Prepared to give their lives.

From colonial militiamen,
Their coats a regal blue,
Who sought lives free of tyranny,
And for liberty overdue.

To technology’s new fighting men,
The warriors of today,
Whose loyalty and honor true,
Still nobly lead the way.

From “Duty, Honor, Country”,
To “Semper Fi” et al,
Our eagle eyes watch over us,
Ensuring peace for all.

Each day we rest assured and know,
Our country’s in good hands,
Because our fearless guardians,
Patrol our sacred lands.

We sometimes take for granted,
The freedoms we hold dear,
And forget the sacrifices,
That were made both far and near.

So next time that you see a soldier,
Sailor or airmen too,
Shake their hand and thank them,
For what they do for you.
